Workshop diary – Day 2

The workshop is developing.

Today, two tables were placed staggered in the centre of the room. Writing stations on either side with blotter pads, paper, pen and different colour ink. On two other tables remaining along the wall, books and texts were laid out. Print out pages were omitted and only colour-bound books with silk ribbon bookmarks were available to read from.

Both of today’s workshops had an extraordinary caring atmosphere. I feel the pre-liminal focus on standing in line, preparing to enter the room (turning off phones and handing them in to me, taking off coats and placing them with bags), then being led in to the room, one by one, eyes closed, and given a location, has a lasting influence which is then fed by the silence and the poetry.

I end the day in anticipation of new gifts and explorations to come.
